What you can expect

This podcast contains real stories from real women who have changed their lives for the better. Women who have been through a whole array of different things, from the worst things you can imagine all the way through to navigating who they are again.

The majority of the women I have interviewed to date, work for themselves. They have created a business and a life that is more suited to who they are now and we talk about what led them up to that point, the challenges they've faced along the way and how they have overcome them.

This is a place to inspire other women and the future generation of girls coming up, that they really can be, do or have anything they set their minds to, no matter what their background is. And here, within this podcast is the living proof.

In between the interviews, there are shorter solo episodes to help you with your own mindset and to help you gain the clarity you need to move forward in a way that feels good to you.

Because I don't believe in a cookie cutter approach, I don't believe that one size fits all. I believe that we are all here, just once, to create a life that is the truest expression of who we really are.

And if you need help with rediscovering who you really are and what you really want, I'm here to help you find out and create that life - one sustainable step at a time.

36. Her ex employer didn't believe in her, in fact they belittled her and it could have cost her everything but instead she got curious and has now mastered something way more complex

Throughout this very rich and insightful conversation Penelope mentions that she isn't 'at all techy' so if the idea of AI bores you then this conversation is for you.

Penelope has a way of making it so simple to understand, so useful and actually really interesting.

Her ex employer from years before told her that with no amount of training she would grasp excel and so she avoided it from then on. This nearly made her avoid a coding class because she had this internal belief that she wasn't clever enough to 'get it' but she turned up anyway and it changed everything.

Penelope has had a very interesting life wearing many different hats from the various different job rolls for various types of employers over the years. And she thinks that her inability to stay in a roll for more than 2 years at a time is possibly due to her having autism, ADHD, and dyspraxia but also the very reason as to why she can easily visualise the structure behind AI, seeing patterns, breaking things down and reassembling them into a useable system - a very interesting and useful skill to have.

We talk about everything from reading Carrie Green's book She Means Business to her kids at bedtime when they were little and now how her eldest is away at uni still listening to it when she goes to bed.

How she uses AI to decode her dreams and helps her daughter translate her uni lectures that are delivered in french to help her get the most from them whilst she picks up the language, to being looked down upon when she told a branding professional that if she used pink she wouldn't be taken seriously... We all know that's not true!

If AI is something that worries you, bores you, or even interests you, you'll love Penelope's story.

Hi, I’m Bex

The idea for this podcast was born after attending a wonderful event called Light Leaders, hosted in Oxfordshire, UK.

During this event, I met so many amazing women who told their stories of how they had changed their lives and whilst doing so were helping other women do the same - but in so many different and incredible ways.

This is something that is already so close to my heart after losing a friend who had given up on theirs and so I just knew, in that moment that I wanted to do something that helped inspire other women that they could do the same, no matter what they had experienced previously.

A few of the women I met that day have shared their stories on my podcast or are booked in to be interviewed at a later date. Since then, I have met so many other brilliant women, each and every one of them eager to help.

I would love to know what you think and so I really do encourage you to leave a comment, share and subscribe to the podcast, on your favourite platform as this really does help us to reach more women who really need to hear the stories we've got to tell.

Thank you so much for listening.
